Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Los Angeles responded about 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023 to fire in a 2-story commercial building at Ruby Textiles, 1131 South Los Angeles Street in Downtown Los Angeles. Initially heavy smoke was showing with an offensive operation, but heavy flames were showing through the roof by 6:30 a.m.
The Incident Commander has withdrawn companies and transitioned to defensive mode (exterior-only fire attack).
