A massive fire destroyed a lumber yard just across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Monday night.
Firefighters responded about 9:40 p.m. Monday to a fire at the Lafferty and Co. lumberyard, 1100 Hummel Avenue in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania. The entire lumberyard was destroyed.
During the firefighting operations, there were no reports of injuries. Roads nearby were closed, power outages were reported, and heat from the fire could be felt 100 feet away.
