Webster, Texas firefighters responded to a strip mall fire Friday afternoon, March 22, 2013, at “Space Cleaners” El Camino Real and NASA 1 Bypass.
No injuries reported.
The City of Webster, population 10,400 near Houston, Texas, has two fire stations, Station #1 and Station #2, with the fire department offices in the second station.
In 1961 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced construction of the Manned Spacecraft Center (now known as the Johnson Space Center) nearby along the shores of Clear Lake, about 5 miles northeast of Webster and Galveston Bay/Gulf of Mexico.
