Greyhound Bus Rollover Crash on Highway 101 at Route 85, San Jose; Two Female Passengers Killed, Eight Passengers Injured


Two female passengers were killed Tuesday morning in Northern California after a Greyhound bus rolled onto its side on a busy highway.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Lisa Brazil responded about 6:40 a.m. on U.S. Highway 101 at state Route 85. Two female passengers of a total of 18 passengers were killed. Eight passengers, including the bus driver were injured.

The busy rush hour traffic crash on the South Bay thoroughfare occurred during rainy weather. The bus departed Los Angeles about midnight. The crashed bu was resting on a concrete barrier on the right side (passenger side) of the bus.

An investigation is underway, including the work hours and travel log of the bus driver.
