Six Firefighters Injured in Mount Vernon, New York House Fire — Extra Alarm Fire

Mount Vernon, Eastchester and Pelham firefighters responded about 6 p.m. Thursday to a report of a house fire at 226 West Second Street. On arrival fire was blowing through upper floor injuries. Fire destroyed the second floor and vented through the roof.

Six firefighters were transported to Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital with minor injuries. No residents were injured, but 14 residents were displaced by the fire.
