Kansas City firefighters and Missouri State Police responded about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2014 to a rollover crash of a semi-trailer truck carrying heavy rocks. The truck was well-involved when firefighters arrived. Several other vehicles on northbound I-35 were hit by flying debris and rocks.
The truck driver escaped the cab, but suffered burn injuries. There is no word on the extent of his injuries at this time.

Firefighters used foam to extinguish the fire, which appeared under control at about 7:11 a.m. A flare-up occurred with fuel burning on the pavement. The truck on its left side was mostly positioned in lane two of three northbound lanes. The burning fuel on re-ignition leaked across lane three toward the shoulder. A firefighter with a hose line was visible about 10 feet from the ignition area just minutes before the ignition.
Traffic was still blocked on the northbound lanes of I-35 at 9:30 a.m.
