LAFD Firefighters Extinguish Fully-Involved Fire in a Vacant Furniture Store in North Hills, Los Angeles

Firefighters extinguished a fire in a one-story commercial building in North Hills Wednesday morning in about 40 minutes, according to ONSCENE TV.

LAFD firefighters responded about 12:34 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 15701 West Roscoe Boulevard, North Hills, Van Nuys;

LAFD firefighters initially engaged in a defensive attack on a one-story commercial with heavy fire showing. After knocking back the flames from the exterior, firefighters entered the structure to finish off the remainder of the flames. Firefighters also used power saws to cut through a perimeter fence around the building. Forty-two firefighters took 36 minutes to extinguish the blaze at 1:10 AM. No reported injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Possibly six hand lines or more were in use in a vacant one-story commercial structure across the street from a Chevron gas station — also on Roscoe Boulevard. Nearby tall palm tree(s) and possibly other trees also ignited.
