On March 6, 2019 at 2315 hours, Newark Fire Department units were dispatched to a report of a house fire in the block of 500 Prior Avenue in Newark, Ohio. While responding, dispatch advised they had received two calls reporting a fire at this location. The fire occurred in a 20×45 2-story house situated on a very narrow street.

Newark Fire Department responded with two engines, one ladder, three medics, and a battalion chief. Also two automatic-aid engines responded to the scene. Newark Fire Department’s total strength for this fire was 17 firefighters.

Battalion-1 was the first arriving unit, and reported fire in the back (Charlie side) of the house on Division 1. The fire was contained with two hose lines, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported, however two dogs perished in the fire.

The fire video was recorded with a Motorola Moto Z Force Droid in an iBolt suction cup windshield mount.

SPECIAL NOTE- Due to the narrow width of Prior Avenue, the video is blocked by Rescue-1 who was assigned to establish water supply. You can skip forward to 16:50 to pick back up on the action. According to Chief David Decker, sometimes this is unavoidable and the nature of our business.
