Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:02 PM Wednesday November 7, 2018 to a report of a head-on crash with people trapped at Milwaukee Avenue and Prague Avenue Buffalo Grove, Il. Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics responded to an extrication, head-on crash with one person trapped in each vehicle. The crash involved a Toyota Venza and a small pickup truck.
Battalion 4 on arrival reported two vehicles with heavy damage with a patient trapped in each vehicle and two people on the side of the road.
The first patient was extricated by about 5:10 p.m. The second patient was extricated by about 5:42 p.m.
One patient was transported with life-threatening injuries to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. One patient was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. At least two patients had life-threatening injuries.
All southbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue were closed near the crash scene and some northbound lanes were also closed near the crash scene. Accident investigators were dispatched to the scene for an extended accident investigation, which will probably take 3-5 hours to complete.
