Truck vs PT Cruiser crash scene with one man injured and airlifted by Lifestar to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Bristol-Kendall firefighter/paramedics and Yorkville police responded about 7:30 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 to truck crash with a passenger vehicle.
Police said the accident occurred when a semi-trailer truck driven by Kenneth J. Stade, 56, of Johnsburg, was headed southbound on Route 47 at Galena Road and crashed with a PT Cruiser which was heading westbound on Galena Road. The truck pushed the PT Cruiser into a guard rail, entrapping the male driver in the PT Cruiser.
Firefighter/paramedics extricated the man and transferred him to a Lifestar medevac helicopter. He was then transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.
The truck driver, Kenneth J. Stade, 56, of Johnsburg, was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.
Roadways near the crash scene were closed until 12:30 p.m. for accident reconstruction investigation.
