Semi-Trailer truck fire involves explosions and diesel fire on the pavement with firefighters preventing runoff n SB I-805 at Plaza Blvd, National City (Youtube/911 Video News).
Semi-trailer truck fire starts with the tractor. The driver said the fire started when a mattress fell off another vehicle, and apparently became ignited by the truck.
The tractor ignited first at about 2:00 p.m. Next the trailer started on fire. Firefighters also had to fight flaming diesel that was running along the pavement, and heading for sewer grates.
A Hazmat response was dispatched to clean up unburned fuel.

Three lanes of SB I-805 at Plaza Blvd are closed due to a semi-truck fire. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
