Flossmoor police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:25 p.m. Sunday to a report of a vehicle crash with entrapment at Vollmer Road and Crawford Avenue. Five people were extricated and rescued from the pin-in crash.
Neighbors reported hearing a loud boom just before 9:25 p.m. Then people in the crash began yelling at each other.
The vehicles were severely damaged and off the road. Emergency crews worked at least 30 minutes to free five people who were trapped in the vehicles.
At least one person was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Christ Medical Center, and was then listed in critical condition.
Flossmoor Fire Department activated an EMS Box Alarm at about 9:37 p.m. to bring mutual aid assistance to their town.
