Boston firefighters responded 5:43 p.m. Saturday December 26, 2015 to a four-alarm fire at a multi-family house in Dorchester on Saturday night.
The house received an estimated $750,000 in damage. No injuries are reported but fire officials reported that 10 adults and six children were displaced. The American Red Cross responded to assist affected families.
Fire investigators ruled the fire accidental after discovering that the fire started in a front room on the first floor where flammable liquid came into contact with a lit candle.
Dorchester is a historic neighborhood that was founded independently from Boston in 1630 and annexed to Boston in 1870.
