Police and firefighters responded about 10:30 a.m. Monday after a westbound truck crashed through a cement median on Highway 401 in Bowmanville at approximately 10:30 a.m. The impact spilled gravel across the road, and caused the truck to roll over and catch fire.
The truck driver was killed in the crash. He was identified as D-Jay Allen Bartlett, age 32, of Oshawa
Eastbound and westbound lanes were temporarily closed at Liberty Street for several hours.
