Los Angeles police and firefighters paramedics responded about 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 to a fatal crash at Plummer Street and Haskell Avenue. The driver of a car that collided with a truck in North Hills today was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The truck with a flatbed trailer was hauling water tender truck and a backhoe excavator when it crash with the car — a Ford Taurus station wagon. The truck was southbound on Haskell Street and the station wagon was westbound on Plummer Street, according to LAPD.
Both vehicles ended up on a lawn — the truck and trailer jackknifed, and the Ford Taurus station wagon with severe damage. The intersection of Plummer Street and Haskell Avenue is controlled by a traffic signal. One vehicle may have gone through a red light, Delgado said.
Darrell Murphy, age 58, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Police urge anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call the Los Police Department Valley Traffic Division at (818) 644-8116.
