Collapse of Commercial Building on fire in Garrettsville, Ohio.
Garrettsville – Freedom – Nelson Fire Department firefighters responded about 1:15 p.m. Saturday a fire at the corner of Center Street and Main Street. The fire eventually destroyed at least five buildings and 13 businesses.
Firefighters from 34 fire departments fought the fire. One firefighter from Windham Fire Department suffered smoke inhalation.
Garrettsville, Ohio has a population of about 2,200 and is about 34 miles southeast of Cleveland, Ohio.
