Interview with a driver that was hit by the offending vehicle at the end of the chase in Blaine, Minnesota; and traffic cam videos that captured part of the pursuit.
A police pursuit was captured on traffic cameras as a man in a stolen pickup truck tried to get away from police officers by crossing medians and jumping on and off an interstate highway. The 9-1-1 call initially was received as a domestic dispute inside the moving pickup truck. The offending driver drove the wrong way down a residential street, and crashed head-on into another car just before the chase ended — the pickup truck ended up stranded on someone’s snow-covered lawn. The driver took off on foot, but was apprehended by police.
