Unconscious Man Rescued in the White Salmon River, Washington

Russ Cole jumps into the Washington river to rescue a man who went overboard and became unconscious.

River guide Russ Cole was watching as a group of four rafters took the plunge over 14-foot Husum Falls in Washington’s White Salmon River. While plunging over the Husum falls, one man hit his head and flew from the raft, and was knocked unconscious. The man regained conscious and asked what happened. He was told he was on a river raft and took some falls he was advised not to take.

He also forgot a very important rule in river rafting — always hold on to the raft.

A second man was able to cling to the edge of the raft.
