Cruise ship passenger Mark J. Ormesher is praising the conduct of the crew, after the fire on board the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas cruise ship. 2,200 passengers are being flown back to the US, after a fire on board the ship.
A fire broke out on the third deck of Grandeur of the Seas at about 2:50 AM EDT on May 27, 2013. The fire was extinguished at sea, and all passengers reported to evacuation locations, however evacuation plans were delayed. Royal Caribbean reported full power was available and the ship made its way to the Bahamas.
More than 2,200 passengers were flown from the Bahamas back to Baltimore — the origin of the cruise.
