THU FEB 14 2013 “Overnight” Los Angeles Task Force 9 at 719 East 9th Street responded to a structure fire and reported a one-story commercial building with “smoke showing.” Firefighters made entry, quickly knocking down the fire in front of “American Fabric Company” before it could spread. Firefighters on the roof encountered an arcing wire at the “drip loop” and quickly neutralized the threat.
During overhaul a man, injured by the fire, walked up to firefighters with burns on his hands, neck and face reporting he was in front of the store when the fire erupted. The man was transported via Los Angeles Fire Department City Paramedics to a local area Hospital. The cause of the overnight fire is under investigation.
